Elles sont situ\u00e9es dans une zone o\u00f9 la pr\u00e9sence d&rsquo;eau liquide est possible&nbsp;: ni trop pr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;\u00e9toile, ni trop loin. Parmi les sept plan\u00e8tes, trois sont id\u00e9alement plac\u00e9es dans ce qu&rsquo;on appelle la <em>zone habitable<\/em> o\u00f9 la probabilit\u00e9 de trouver de l&rsquo;eau liquide est \u00e9lev\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les sept plan\u00e8tes sont tr\u00e8s proches de l&rsquo;\u00e9toile, sans pour autant \u00ab\u00a0griller\u00a0\u00bb&nbsp;: une plan\u00e8te du syst\u00e8me TRAPPIST-1 peut avoir la m\u00eame temp\u00e9rature que sur Terre tout en \u00e9tant vingt fois plus proche de son \u00e9toile que nous le sommes du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/le-soleil-notre-bonne-etoile\/\">Soleil<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et elles sont assez proches les unes des autres, ce qui doit \u00eatre merveilleux \u00e0 regarder&nbsp;: selon la NASA, un observateur situ\u00e9 sur une de ces plan\u00e8tes pourrait apercevoir des d\u00e9tails g\u00e9ologiques ou des nuages sur les autres plan\u00e8tes voisines, certaines apparaissant plus grosses que la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/la-lune-notre-satellite-naturel\/\">Lune<\/a> dans notre ciel nocturne&nbsp;!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1_main_pia21423_900.jpg\" alt=\"Vue d'artiste pour nous permettre d'imaginer \u00e0 quoi pourrait ressembler la surface de l'exoplan\u00e8te TRAPPIST-1f: au-dessus d'un oc\u00e9an, on voit l'\u00e9toile qui appara\u00eet grosse car elle est tr\u00e8s proche, et rouge car elle est peu chaude. D&rsquo;autres plan\u00e8tes voisines sont visibles dans le ciel&nbsp;! <\/strong><small>Cr\u00e9dit&nbsp;: NASA<\/small> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Elles tournent autour d&rsquo;une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/les-etoiles-naissance-vie-et-mort\/\">\u00e9toile<\/a> assez particuli\u00e8re, qui est dix fois plus petite que le Soleil (une <em>\u00e9toile naine<\/em>) et particuli\u00e8rement peu chaude (les scientifiques disent <em>froide<\/em> mais tout est relatif, en fait elle est deux fois moins chaude que le Soleil). Cette \u00e9toile est de couleur rouge dans le ciel de ces plan\u00e8tes car sa temp\u00e9rature est basse (alors qu&rsquo;une \u00e9toile tr\u00e8s chaude a un \u00e9clat bleut\u00e9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La NASA, mais pas que&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette d\u00e9couverte extraordinaire est un coup de ma\u00eetre scientifique, mais aussi m\u00e9diatique&nbsp;: la NASA communique tr\u00e8s abondamment sur ce monde myst\u00e9rieux, avec de superbes images d&rsquo;artistes pour nous faire r\u00eaver&nbsp;!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il faut quand m\u00eame souligner que la NASA n&rsquo;est pas seule \u00e0 avoir \u0153uvr\u00e9 pour cette d\u00e9couverte et que l&rsquo;Europe n&rsquo;en est pas absente, bien au  contraire&nbsp;: si le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/les-grands-observatoires-spatiaux\/#spitzer-herschel\">t\u00e9lescope spatial Spitzer<\/a> de la NASA a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9terminant, de nombreux autres moyens ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s. L&rsquo;auteur principal de la publication scientifique (revue <em>Nature<\/em> du 23&nbsp;f\u00e9vrier&nbsp;2017) est Michael&nbsp;Gillon&nbsp;: un astronome belge responsable du programme d&rsquo;\u00e9tude TRAPPIST \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Li\u00e8ge. Il avait permis en&nbsp;2016 la d\u00e9couverte de deux exoplan\u00e8tes.
