Alors pourquoi l&#8217;empire du Milieu s&rsquo;int\u00e9resse-t-il toujours autant \u00e0 notre satellite&nbsp;? La p\u00e9riode de rotation de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/la-lune-notre-satellite-naturel\/\">Lune<\/a> est parfaitement synchronis\u00e9e avec sa p\u00e9riode de r\u00e9volution. C&rsquo;est pourquoi&nbsp;un de ses deux h\u00e9misph\u00e8res tourne sans cesse le dos \u00e0 la Terre. La face cach\u00e9e de la Lune, comme on l&rsquo;appelle souvent, alimente tous les fantasmes depuis bien longtemps. Elle est montagneuse et accident\u00e9e, comporte des \u00ab\u00a0mers\u00a0\u00bb de basalte qui apparaissent fonc\u00e9es et poss\u00e8de \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de crat\u00e8res d&rsquo;impacts de toutes tailles &#8211; dont le plus grand du Syst\u00e8me solaire large, de plus de 2&nbsp;500&nbsp;kilom\u00e8tres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9but janvier&nbsp;2019, ce sont les Chinois qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les premiers \u00e0 alunir dans cette zone encore myst\u00e9rieuse par bien des aspects, photographi\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois par la mission russe Luna&nbsp;3 en 1959. La sonde Chang&rsquo;e&nbsp;4, nomm\u00e9e apr\u00e8s la d\u00e9esse de la Lune dans la mythologie chinoise, a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9e le 7&nbsp;d\u00e9cembre&nbsp;2018 et a voyag\u00e9 cinq jours avant de se placer en orbite autour de notre satellite. Le 3&nbsp;janvier&nbsp;2019, elle a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 en douceur un atterrisseur et un rover dans le crat\u00e8re Von&nbsp;K\u00e1rm\u00e1n. Le nouveau v\u00e9hicule roulant est pilot\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;aveugle, car aucune communication directe n&rsquo;est possible entre la Terre et la face cach\u00e9e de la Lune. La m\u00eame probl\u00e9matique \u00e9tait survenue avec les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/tout-savoir-sur-lexploration-de-mars\/\">rovers de la Nasa \u00e0 la surface de Mars<\/a>, \u00e0 cause du temps de parcours des ondes jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/que-sait-on-de-mars\/\">plan\u00e8te rouge<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La difficult\u00e9 technique a \u00e9t\u00e9 un v\u00e9ritable challenge pour les ing\u00e9nieurs chinois, qui n&rsquo;avaient jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent g\u00e9r\u00e9 que des mises en orbite de sondes et des alunissages sur la face visible. Afin d&rsquo;\u00e9changer avec le rover et de relayer ses donn\u00e9es vers la Terre, la Chine a utilis\u00e9 le satellite Queqiao. Les scientifiques sont parvenus \u00e0 obtenir une image jusqu\u2019\u00e0 40&nbsp;m\u00e8tres sous la surface du sol lunaire, soit trois fois plus profond\u00e9ment que Chang\u2019e&nbsp;3. Les donn\u00e9es du rover ont ainsi permis d\u2019identifier trois couches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La premi\u00e8re couche jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 12&nbsp;m\u00e8tres, assez uniforme, est tr\u00e8s transparente aux ondes radio et correspond au r\u00e9golithe, la poudre compacte o\u00f9 les particules restent imbriqu\u00e9es les unes dans les autres et dont la roche-m\u00e8re de la Lune est recouverte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La seconde couche est plus irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re, avec un m\u00e9lange de zones complexes o\u00f9 les ondes rebondissent, et de zones plus uniformes. Pour les scientifiques chinois, elle est remplie de gros rochers entrecoup\u00e9s par de fines couches de mat\u00e9riaux fins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tous ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments laissent penser que cette accumulation serait \u00ab\u00a0<em>probablement la cons\u00e9quence d&rsquo;une jeune galaxie agit\u00e9e, lorsque des m\u00e9t\u00e9ores et d&rsquo;autres d\u00e9bris spatiaux sont fr\u00e9quemment venus frapper la Lune. Le site d&rsquo;impact \u00e9jectait de la mati\u00e8re vers d&rsquo;autres zones, cr\u00e9ant ainsi une surface crat\u00e9ris\u00e9e au-dessus d&rsquo;un sous-sol avec diff\u00e9rentes couches<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toutefois, les mesures indiquent \u00ab\u00a0<em>un contexte g\u00e9ologique totalement diff\u00e9rent pour les deux sites d&rsquo;atterrissage\u00a0\u00bb, <\/em>en comparaison avec Chang\u2019e&nbsp;3 qui se trouve dans la Mer des Pluies. Enfin, un spectrom\u00e8tre \u00e9tudie les interactions entre le vent solaire et la surface de notre satellite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9but avril 2021, la sonde et le rover entamaient leur 29<sup>e<\/sup> jour lunaire d&rsquo;analyses scientifiques, apr\u00e8s plus de 825&nbsp;jours terrestres pass\u00e9s \u00e0 la surface de notre satellite. \u00c0 noter que depuis son atterrissage, le rover a parcouru un peu plus de 680&nbsp;m\u00e8tres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&rsquo;ambitieux programme lunaire chinois<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le contenu de la mission Chang&rsquo;e\u00a04 est au c\u0153ur de l&rsquo;ambitieux programme lunaire chinois. En effet, l&rsquo;agence spatiale chinoise ou CNSA (China National Space Administration) souhaite sonder en d\u00e9tail le sous-sol lunaire car elle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/mars-la-lune-une-nouvelle-ere-pour-exploration-humaine\/\">convoite ses ressources mini\u00e8res<\/a>. \u00c0 l&rsquo;horizon 2030, la Chine pr\u00e9voit notamment une exploitation commerciale de l&rsquo;h\u00e9lium\u00a03, un gaz l\u00e9ger et non radioactif, rare sur notre plan\u00e8te, qui permettrait de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer beaucoup d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie. D\u00e9sormais acteur \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re de l&rsquo;industrie spatiale, le pays investit en effet des milliards dans son programme pilot\u00e9 par l&rsquo;arm\u00e9e et n&rsquo;a rien \u00e0 envier aux \u00c9tats-Unis ou \u00e0 la Russie. Il d\u00e9veloppe son syst\u00e8me de g\u00e9olocalisation (Beidou), con\u00e7oit son propre mod\u00e8le de station spatiale, et est parvenu le 10&nbsp;f\u00e9vrier&nbsp;2021, \u00e0 satelliser la sonde Tianwen-1 autour de Mars, une semaine avant l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/larrivee-de-perseverance-sur-mars-sest-deroulee-parfaitement\/\">atterrissage du rover Perseverance<\/a> de la Nasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Chine est ainsi devenu le sixi\u00e8me nation \u00e0 rejoindre Mars apr\u00e8s les \u00c9tats-Unis, la Russie, l&rsquo;Europe, l&rsquo;Inde et les \u00c9mirats arabes unis (qui l&rsquo;ont fait seulement quelques heures avant avec l&rsquo;orbiteur Al-Amal). Mais surtout, entre mai et juin&nbsp;2021, Tianwen-1 doit larguer un atterrisseur et un v\u00e9hicule motoris\u00e9 \u00e0 la surface de Mars, prouesse technologique que seuls les \u00c9tats-Unis ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 accomplir jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-large wp-image-2864\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Change_3_credit_Chinese_Academy_of_Sciences-1024x574.jpg\" alt=\"Photo r\u00e9elle de l'atterrisseur Chang'e 3 prise par le rover Yutu. Depuis 2007, Chang&rsquo;e s&rsquo;est concr\u00e9tis\u00e9 par le lancement <em>via<\/em> des fus\u00e9es chinoises \u00ab\u00a0Longue Marche\u00a0\u00bb de trois sondes spatiales (Chang&rsquo;e&nbsp;1,&nbsp;2 et&nbsp;3) et l&rsquo;alunissage du robot explorateur Chang&rsquo;e&nbsp;3 en 2013. Cette op\u00e9ration n&rsquo;avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9it\u00e9r\u00e9e depuis la sonde sovi\u00e9tique Luna&nbsp;24 en 1976.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd&rsquo;hui, c&rsquo;est Chang&rsquo;e&nbsp;5 qui fait parler d&rsquo;elle. Fin 2020, cette mission chinoise a en effet r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 rapporter sur Terre des \u00e9chantillons de la Lune. Apr\u00e8s les \u00c9tats-Unis et la Russie, la Chine est le troisi\u00e8me pays \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir un tel exploit, qui n&rsquo;avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 reproduit depuis la derni\u00e8re mission habit\u00e9e Apollo&nbsp;17 en 1972.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-33575 size-full\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"511\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/chang_e_5_credit_CNSA.jpg\" alt=\"Photo de la sonde Chang'e 5 apr\u00e8s son retour sur Terre.
