Je le recommande\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, en a dit Neil Armstrong. Le commentaire du premier homme \u00e0 avoir march\u00e9 sur la Lune en 1969 laisse r\u00eaveur. Il met \u00e9galement en lumi\u00e8re un fait important&nbsp;: notre unique satellite naturel n&rsquo;est pas un simple caillou. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 une distance moyenne de 384\u00a0400\u00a0kilom\u00e8tres de notre plan\u00e8te, la Lune est 80\u00a0fois moins massive que la Terre et la gravit\u00e9 y est six fois plus faible. \u00c0 ce jour, c&rsquo;est le seul astre non terrestre du Syst\u00e8me solaire \u00e0 avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 visit\u00e9 par l&rsquo;Homme. Le choc, survenu il y a plus de 4,5&nbsp;milliards d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es, aurait \u00e9ject\u00e9 de la mati\u00e8re autour de notre plan\u00e8te, mati\u00e8re qui se serait ensuite agr\u00e9g\u00e9e pour former la Lune. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sol lunaire est constitu\u00e9 d&rsquo;une couche de poussi\u00e8re de 3&nbsp;\u00e0 20&nbsp;m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur appel\u00e9e r\u00e9golithe, qui recouvre la cro\u00fbte. Dans les mers, en majorit\u00e9 localis\u00e9es sur la face visible de l&rsquo;astre, le r\u00e9golithe qui mesure entre 3&nbsp;et 5&nbsp;m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur est plus fonc\u00e9 car riche en basalte volcanique. Sur les hauts plateaux, on peut trouver jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 20&nbsp;m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur de poussi\u00e8re, moins riche en mati\u00e8re volcanique et donc plus claire et r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissante. La Lune appara\u00eet blanche et gris\u00e2tre \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il nu ou \u00e0 travers nos t\u00e9lescopes. Mais en r\u00e9alit\u00e9, ses roches basaltiques sont tr\u00e8s fonc\u00e9es, presque anthracite&nbsp;! Juste apr\u00e8s sa formation, la cro\u00fbte \u00e9tait un v\u00e9ritable oc\u00e9an de magma liquide qui a progressivement refroidi. En 1972, le dixi\u00e8me et plus jeune homme \u00e0 avoir march\u00e9 sur la Lune, Charlie Duke, en a d&rsquo;ailleurs fait les frais. Il a symboliquement d\u00e9pos\u00e9 une photo de sa famille sur le sol lunaire. Charmant. Sa surface est donc tr\u00e8s peu prot\u00e9g\u00e9e des rayons cosmiques et solaires. Pour les premiers explorateurs de notre satellite, c&rsquo;\u00e9tait donc lunettes de soleil obligatoires. Young<\/small><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Y a-t-il de l&rsquo;eau sur la Lune&nbsp;?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Depuis 2008, on sait gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la sonde indienne Chandrayaan-1 que de la glace d&rsquo;eau solide se trouve dans des crat\u00e8res situ\u00e9s aux p\u00f4les. Une d\u00e9couverte confirm\u00e9e par la Nasa en 2018 par l&rsquo;instrument <em>Moon Mineralogy Mapper<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette eau proviendrait des com\u00e8tes. Suite \u00e0 l&rsquo;impact avec la Lune, la neige sale de ces com\u00e8tes se serait en effet vaporis\u00e9e pour former une atmosph\u00e8re provisoire autour de notre satellite, avant de se condenser puis de se d\u00e9poser et givrer sur le sol lunaire. L&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur des crat\u00e8res n&rsquo;\u00e9tant jamais expos\u00e9 au Soleil, la glace form\u00e9e aurait ainsi pu se conserver plusieurs centaines de millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es&nbsp;! Par cons\u00e9quent, notre satellite naturel pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s toujours la m\u00eame face \u00e0 la Terre. L&rsquo;eau situ\u00e9e \u00e0 la verticale de la Lune a tendance a \u00eatre attir\u00e9e vers le haut par celle-ci. A l&rsquo;oppos\u00e9 de la Terre, la surface de l&rsquo;eau subit au contraire moins la gravit\u00e9 de la Lune que le reste de la Terre et a donc aussi tendance \u00e0 se soulever. Il se cr\u00e9\u00e9 donc deux zones oppos\u00e9es o\u00f9 l&rsquo;eau est plus haute que la moyenne et en compensation, \u00e0 la perpendiculaire de celles-ci, deux autres zones ou l&rsquo;eau est plus basse que la moyenne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, la Terre tourne sur elle-m\u00eame en 24h&nbsp;: elle effectue sa rotation \u00ab\u00a0sous\u00a0\u00bb ces zones d&rsquo;eau sur\u00e9lev\u00e9es ou abaiss\u00e9es.
