Le prochain aura lieu en 2117.<\/strong><small> Cr\u00e9dit : Jaxa\/Nasa<\/small><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V\u00e9nus est une des quatre plan\u00e8tes telluriques du Syst\u00e8me solaire, rocheuse comme la Terre. Nomm\u00e9e apr\u00e8s la d\u00e9esse romaine de l&rsquo;amour et de la beaut\u00e9 f\u00e9minine, sa taille et sa masse sont tr\u00e8s semblables \u00e0 celles de notre plan\u00e8te. Toutefois, la comparaison n&rsquo;ira pas plus loin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V\u00e9nus est la deuxi\u00e8me plan\u00e8te la plus proche du Soleil derri\u00e8re Mercure. Pourtant, un puissant effet de serre maintient sa temp\u00e9rature moyenne de surface \u00e0 470\u00b0C, ce qui en fait la plan\u00e8te la plus chaude du Syst\u00e8me solaire. Par ailleurs, elle est avec Uranus la seule \u00e0 tourner sur elle-m\u00eame dans le sens des aiguilles d&rsquo;une montre &#8211; si on la regarde depuis le p\u00f4le nord &#8211; et sa p\u00e9riode de rotation est si lente que trois jours v\u00e9nusiens correspondent \u00e0 environ une ann\u00e9e terrestre. \u00c0 noter que V\u00e9nus ne poss\u00e8de aucun satellite naturel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De plus, V\u00e9nus, c&rsquo;est aussi l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/observer-venus-etoile-du-berger\/\">\u00e9toile du Berger<\/a>. Lorsqu&rsquo;elle est visible dans le ciel du soir, elle appara\u00eet toujours la premi\u00e8re. Selon la l\u00e9gende, les bergers utilisaient cet&nbsp;astre, le plus brillant du ciel apr\u00e8s le Soleil et la Lune, pour se rep\u00e9rer, ou du moins affectionnaient leur rendez-vous quotidien avec V\u00e9nus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une atmosph\u00e8re acide et corrosive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V\u00e9nus poss\u00e8de l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re la plus \u00e9paisse de toutes les plan\u00e8tes telluriques. C&rsquo;est pourquoi la pression \u00e0 sa surface est tr\u00e8s importante, 91,8 fois celle de la Terre. L&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re v\u00e9nusienne, acide et corrosive, contient 96,5&nbsp;% de dioxyde de carbone&nbsp;et 3,5&nbsp;% d&rsquo;azote. Des nuages opaques constitu\u00e9s de gouttelettes de dioxyde de soufre et d&rsquo;acide sulfurique, surmont\u00e9s d&rsquo;une brume de cristaux de glace d&rsquo;eau, lui donnent son aspect jaune (\u00e0 cause du soufre) et laiteux. Leur \u00e9paisseur d&rsquo;une soixantaine de kilom\u00e8tres bloque le passage de 80% de la lumi\u00e8re du Soleil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/survol_Venus_Express_credit_Esa_MPS_DLR_IDA_M_P\u00e9rez-Ay\u00facar_C_Wilson.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Cette animation a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;images de cam\u00e9ra de la sonde&nbsp;Venus Express, recueillies pendant une orbite enti\u00e8re autour de la plan\u00e8te en janvier 2012. Wilson<\/small><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De plus, l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re v\u00e9nusienne cent fois plus massive que celle de la Terre est ind\u00e9pendante de la plan\u00e8te et poss\u00e8de une super-rotation d&rsquo;une dur\u00e9e de quatre jours. Elle tourne si vite qu&rsquo;elle g\u00e9n\u00e8re en altitude, au niveau de l&rsquo;\u00e9quateur, des vents de plus de 360 km\/h! Sa densit\u00e9 et sa composition sont \u00e9galement \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine de l&rsquo;effet de serre responsable de temp\u00e9ratures suffocantes les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es jamais enregistr\u00e9es \u00e0 la surface d&rsquo;une plan\u00e8te du Syst\u00e8me solaire, approchant les 500\u00b0C. D\u00e9cid\u00e9ment, il fait bon vivre sur V\u00e9nus&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pas de tectonique des plaques sur V\u00e9nus, mais du volcanisme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La structure interne de V\u00e9nus se d\u00e9compose, comme la Terre, en trois parties : noyau, manteau et cro\u00fbte. Le noyau de fer et de nickel poss\u00e8de une partie centrale solide entour\u00e9e de ces m\u00eames \u00e9l\u00e9ments sous forme liquide. Toutefois, V\u00e9nus ne poss\u00e8de pas de champ magn\u00e9tique interne, ce qui laisse pr\u00e9sager d&rsquo;un noyau purement liquide. \u00c0 ce jour, la question reste ouverte. De nombreux volcans et d\u00f4mes volcaniques y ont \u00e9t\u00e9&nbsp;d\u00e9couverts, tout comme des canyons longs et profonds, et&nbsp;quelques montagnes pouvant atteindre une dizaine de kilom\u00e8tres d\u2019altitude. Aucun m\u00e9canisme de tectonique des plaques ne semble avoir lieu sur V\u00e9nus. Selon les hypoth\u00e8ses en vigueur, sa surface est remodel\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement\u00a0\u00bb par des \u00e9ruptions volcaniques globales, ce qui explique la jeunesse de sa surface de l&rsquo;ordre de 500 millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&rsquo;exploration de V\u00e9nus \u00e0 ses balbutiements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depuis le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1960, une petite vingtaine de sondes seulement ont rendu visite \u00e0 la sulfureuse V\u00e9nus. En effet, les conditions de pression et de temp\u00e9rature extr\u00eames m\u00e8nent la vie dure aux instruments \u00e9lectroniques, rendant compliqu\u00e9s voire impossibles les&nbsp;atterrissages de modules ou les plong\u00e9es dans l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re. De plus, la d\u00e9tection de traces de vie bien peu probable, oriente les budgets des agences spatiales vers une Mars plus attrayante, o\u00f9 les d\u00e9couvertes d&rsquo;eau sous diverses formes enthousiasment r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement la presse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ainsi, en 1962, la sonde am\u00e9ricaine Mariner 2 effectuait le tout premier survol de V\u00e9nus. Cette mission permit de d\u00e9terminer la ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nale temp\u00e9rature de la plan\u00e8te. Puis, dans les d\u00e9cennies qui suivirent, seuls quelques satellites se sont plac\u00e9s en orbite autour de l&rsquo;\u00e9toile du Berger, et quatre&nbsp;sondes sovi\u00e9tiques &#8211; Venera 9, 10, 13 et 14 &#8211; ont foul\u00e9 sa surface en 1975 et 1982, pendant respectivement&nbsp;53, 65, 57 et 127 minutes&#8230; Venera 13 et 14 ont d&rsquo;ailleurs r\u00e9alis\u00e9 les premi\u00e8res photos couleur de la surface.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-543 size-large\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"211\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stelvision.com\/astro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/surface_Venus_Venera14_credit_Acad\u00e9mie_russe_des_sciences_Ted_Stryk-1024x211.png\" alt=\"Panorama de la surface de V\u00e9nus par la cam\u00e9ra de la sonde Venera 14 en 1982. La sonde am\u00e9ricaine Magellan, en orbite autour de V\u00e9nus pendant quatre ans au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1990, a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son radar une v\u00e9ritable cartographie de la plan\u00e8te, montrant notamment la jeunesse de la surface v\u00e9nusienne, l&rsquo;absence de tectonique des plaques et la pr\u00e9sence de milliers de volcans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La sonde de l&rsquo;Esa Venus Express a quant \u00e0 elle orbit\u00e9 autour de la plan\u00e8te de 2006 \u00e0 2014. La plan\u00e8te, d\u00e9pourvue de champ magn\u00e9tique et donc de bulle protectrice contre le vent solaire appel\u00e9e magn\u00e9tosph\u00e8re, aurait&nbsp;vu son oc\u00e9an s&rsquo;\u00e9vaporer, ses mol\u00e9cules d&rsquo;eau bris\u00e9es par d&rsquo;intenses ultraviolets, ses atomes d&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne et d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne perdus dans l&rsquo;espace&#8230; Le dioxyde de carbone aurait ensuite pris le dessus dans l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re, conduisant au puissant effet de serre \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine du climat v\u00e9nusien actuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De nombreux myst\u00e8res non-\u00e9lucid\u00e9s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais de nombreuses interrogations restent en suspend. Heureusement, de r\u00e9centes simulations du climat pass\u00e9 de V\u00e9nus, effectu\u00e9es par une \u00e9quipe du Goddard Institute for Space Studies de la Nasa \u00e0 New York, ravivent un attrait quelque peu affaibli pour l&rsquo;exploration v\u00e9nusienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En effet, les calculs, qui ont utilis\u00e9 un mod\u00e8le similaire \u00e0 celui permettant de pr\u00e9dire le changement climatique sur Terre, confirment une fois de plus les observations des sondes Pioneer et Venus Express. La plan\u00e8te V\u00e9nus aurait bien \u00e9t\u00e9 pourvue d&rsquo;un oc\u00e9an d&rsquo;eau liquide peu profond, ainsi que de temp\u00e9ratures de surface habitables, pendant environ 2 milliards d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es au cours de son histoire, entre 2,9 milliards et 715 millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es avant notre \u00e8re. Des stries sombres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es par Mariner 10 puis Venus Express dans les nuages de la plan\u00e8te. Elles ne se m\u00e9langent pas au reste de l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re et leur nature inconnue alimente les sp\u00e9culations. Substances dissoutes dans des gouttelettes d&rsquo;<span class=\"link-wrapper\">acide sulfurique,&nbsp;<\/span>microcristaux de glace ou plus fou encore,&nbsp;<span class=\"link-wrapper\">micro-organismes, le myst\u00e8re reste entier. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"link-wrapper\">Alors, pour \u00e9lucider toutes ces questions qui taraudent les plan\u00e9tologues avec toujours plus d&rsquo;intensit\u00e9, de nouveaux projets sont en pr\u00e9paration, ou du moins tentent d&rsquo;\u00eatre financ\u00e9s. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bient\u00f4t de retour sur V\u00e9nus ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apr\u00e8s trois d\u00e9cennies d&rsquo;absence, la Nasa a s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 d\u00e9but 2021 deux missions \u00e0 co\u00fbts mod\u00e9r\u00e9s qui devraient \u00eatre lanc\u00e9es vers 2030-2031. La premi\u00e8re est VERITAS, une mission de cartographie radar, et la seconde DAVINCI, une sonde atmosph\u00e9rique qui doit analyser la composition de l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re v\u00e9nusienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&rsquo;Esa a&nbsp;\u00e9galement valid\u00e9 en 2024 la mission EnVision, une sonde qui sera plac\u00e9e en orbite polaire basse pour quatre ans. Avec un lancement pr\u00e9vu au d\u00e9but de la d\u00e9cennie 2030, EnVision devra d\u00e9terminer la nature de l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 g\u00e9ologique de V\u00e9nus, son \u00e9volution \u00e0 une \u00e9chelle de temps g\u00e9ologique et ses interactions avec l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re. La sonde spatiale de type orbiteur devrait \u00eatre lanc\u00e9e en mars 2028 avec pour objectif de cartographier la surface v\u00e9nusienne, d&rsquo;\u00e9tudier l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re de la plan\u00e8te, d&rsquo;analyser les interactions entre surface et atmosph\u00e8re et d&rsquo;explorer la magn\u00e9tosph\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enfin, la prochaine mission de l&rsquo;agence spatiale russe Roscosmos \u00e0 destination de V\u00e9nus s&rsquo;appelle Verena-D, en hommage au programme Venera des ann\u00e9es 1970. Ainsi, bien que depuis la dissolution de l&rsquo;URSS, les Russes se contentent d&rsquo;envoyer des astronautes dans l&rsquo;ISS, avec Venera-D, Roscosmos renoue avec l&rsquo;exploration du Syst\u00e8me solaire. Plusieurs fois remodel\u00e9e et repouss\u00e9e, notamment en raison de l&rsquo;arr\u00eat de la collaboration avec la NASA en 2022, la mission pr\u00e9voit un lancement en 2031 (\u00e0 la date de 2025). En plus de la sonde en orbite, la mission comprendra un module ballon qui pourrait d\u00e9river quelques semaines dans l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re, ainsi qu&rsquo;un atterrisseur dont la survie au sol
